It’s been a challenging week. Lots of last minute schedule changes at work and new client who simply didn’t show up. At home, the contractor didn’t show up–again. It’s been enough to put me in a funk or to make me wonder what’s wrong with me that all of these things are happening. But this is where choice comes in.
Attitude makes all the difference!
I’m simply choosing not to view it that way. I’m choosing to trust that all of the confusion is temporary. Of course, I looked at whether there was something I could have done differently to avoid these situations. In the case of the new client who no showed, I realize that I have a choice to request a credit card payment in advance for all new clients to ensure that they show up. In the case of existing clients making last minute changes, I have a policy in place for changes with less than 24 hours notice. I’m satisfied with my policies, which presents me with another choice. I choose to trust that most people respect the fact that they made an appointment with a professional and will show up when they’re supposed to.
So, I choose to let it go. I choose to fill in my time with productive activities that might have had to be postponed otherwise. The result of the choices I’m making? I feel good! I’m happy about what I’m accomplishing and I’m enjoying my week. Next week will be better and I’ll have greater appreciation for how well things normally run!
